First, install stakes and stretch a string. For approximate measurements, measure the available slope at the pile installation locations.
We recommend leaving the screw foundation above the ground by no more than 20% of its working length. If the slope is up to 20 cm, you can use the same screws – screw one row completely into the ground, and leave the other above the surface (without exceeding the recommendation). For larger slopes, choose taller screw piles.
For terraces, we typically use U-type screw piles: 885 mm in length for harder soils and 1000 mm in length for softer soils.
If the soil at the installation site has been recently disturbed, we recommend using longer piles.
Unused screw foundations can always be returned. Additionally, you can always exchange the piles for ones that better suit your needs.
Frost lifts from below, but screw foundations are harder to lift due to the pointed tip in the ground. For structures that could be affected by soil movement, we recommend using screw piles at least 1000 mm long.
In Lithuania, the ground typically freezes about 25 cm deep in the east and 15 cm in the west. A snowless winter with temperatures of -25°C for an entire month is required to freeze the ground to 60 cm.
To recommend the best solution, please provide the building dimensions, possibly its weight, and the soil type where it will be placed. Call or write – we’ll choose the most suitable option.
Examples:
1. Mark the installation points on the ground.
2. You can drive in auxiliary tools or the screw pile itself at the planned locations.
3. After marking, measure the diagonals between the points.
Before starting to screw in the galvanized foundation, we recommend checking the site for possible obstacles (stones, roots, etc.). An electric perforator (drill is included in the rental set) is best for this. You can also check by driving in rebar.
Regardless of the quantity, we always recommend using a more powerful drill or perforator or taking breaks to prevent the tool from overheating.
The perforator is the best choice as it comes with a drill for checking the installation points.

Once a screw foundation is installed, you can immediately continue work, whereas a concrete foundation requires waiting for the concrete to set.
